Xero Integration: Setting up and mapping Branches in Citation HR Software to Employee Groups in Xero? (AU)

If you choose to use a branch structure for your Citation HR Software, you can choose to map your branches to Employee Groups in Xero. This is particularly helpful if you already use Xero and you want to import your employee data into Citation HR Software as part of your setup. 

Please note: the fields are case and spaces sensitive. The API Integration Keys on your branches in Citation HR Software, must match the Employee Groups in Xero EXACTLY. 

 

Creating and preparing your branches in Citation HR Software

If you need to create your branches in your Citation HR Software, follow the Branches - How to create and give access to a Branch article, ensuring you complete the last step of adding an API Integration Key. 

If you have already created your branches, you can update them if you haven't yet included an API Integration Key. Navigate to the last section of Branches - How to update a Branch and follow the steps. 

 

Create Employee Groups in Xero

1.  You will need to first set up a tracking group (https://go.xero.com/Setup/Tracking.aspx).

Important note: Category options MUST be unique across all categories for the Xero - Citation HR Software integration to work properly.


2.  Select the "tracking group" you created in "Employee Groups" settings.  Go to "Settings" then "Payroll Settings".
