Now that the Anti-Discrimination and Human Rights Legislation Amendment (Respect at Work) Act 2022 is law, all employers have a direct legal obligation to eliminate sexual harassment in the workplace. While the action required is proportionate to the size and complexity of the business, in our view, it must, as a minimum include:
- Updating your Contracts of Employment and Policies;
- Creating a reporting culture to identify potential issues at an early stage; and
- Implementing regular training and development for all workers.
