Azure B2C Migration – Sign-In Guide (CitationHR)

Overview

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving security, reliability, and user experience, we are migrating all user accounts to Microsoft Azure Active Directory B2C (Azure AD B2C).

This migration enhances account protection and introduces Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as an optional feature. When enabled by your account administrator, MFA provides an extra layer of security against unauthorised access.

What’s Changing

  • A new, Microsoft-hosted sign-in experience.

  • A one-time password reset required at your first login after migration.

  • Optional Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) setup if enabled by your administrator.

Because of this change, you may notice Microsoft-branded pages during sign-in, password reset, or MFA setup.
This is expected and completely safe — these pages are hosted by Microsoft as part of the Azure B2C platform.

🔑 First Login – Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Go to the login page:
    https://login.citationhr.com/login

  2. Enter your username and click Next.
You may be redirected to a page that begins with:

    https://atlashubauauth.b2clogin.com/...

This is part of our secure Microsoft-hosted login system — it is safe and expected.

  3. Enter your password (and complete MFA if prompted).
After signing in, you will automatically return to CitationHR.

  4. Password reset (first login only):
During your first login, you’ll be asked to reset your password.
This is a one-time step to ensure your credentials meet the enhanced Azure B2C security standards.

  5. MFA setup (if enabled):
If your account administrator has enabled MFA, you’ll be guided to choose your preferred verification method — such as email or an authenticator app.

💡 Tip: The web address may appear very long — that’s normal and part of Microsoft’s secure authentication process.

❓ FAQ: Azure B2C Sign-In for CitationHR

Why do I see a Microsoft page?
We’ve upgraded to Microsoft’s secure sign-in system (Azure B2C). After you enter your username at login.citationhr.com/login, you may be redirected to a Microsoft-hosted page. This is expected and safe.

The link is very long.
That’s normal — Microsoft includes encrypted security information in the URL.

Do I need a new password?
No. Use your usual CitationHR username and password, unless you’re prompted to reset it on your first login.

Will I be asked for MFA?
Only if your administrator has enabled two-step verification (MFA) for your account.

Why am I asked for my username twice?
Some Microsoft login pages confirm your identity first, then request your password or MFA code. This is normal.

My password manager didn’t autofill.
You may need to save or update your credentials for both:

  • login.citationhr.com

  • atlashubauauth.b2clogin.com

I’m stuck in a loop or can’t sign in.
Try opening an incognito/private window, or clear cookies for citationhr.com and b2clogin.com.
If the issue continues, contact support.

Can I bookmark the Microsoft page?
You can, but we recommend always starting from https://login.citationhr.com/login.
It automatically redirects you to the correct page.
