Within Citation HR Software, there are two checklists you can choose between to run your Online Performance Review process.
Scheduled Performance Review (eSS)(Standard)
This is our original process for OPR, after feedback from our users we also created a second 'flexible' process for you to use if more appropriate.
The main things to note about our standard checklist are as follows:
- Every person (assessor, employee, peer) is given an opportunity to provide a confidential assessment or evaluation.
- When the last person has completed the appraisal, the employee and assessor may access this information at the same time, as all parties have equal access to that information.
- The assessor and employee meet and discuss the appraisals, and come up with the final appraisal and scores in the process
- The assessor enters the final appraisal for the employee – making any changes as appropriate
It is deemed fair and appropriate that until all parties have submitted the first draft, those responses are confidential. This is to drive unbiased appraisals by others’ opinions.
The above approach means that employees and managers get the same information, at the same time, and have the same opportunity for an unbiased assessment. In addition, step 4) effectively retains final authority to the assessor, who may allow the employee’s rating to influence their own, if they choose.
Scheduled Performance Review (eSS)(Flexible)
This is our second process for OPR, which may be more appropriate for some clients.
The main differences to note about the 'flexible' checklist are as follows:
- Review Assessee's Self-Assessment - The Assessor can review the Assessee's self-assessment prior to releasing the initial OPR Summary Report document. This means that the Assessee will not receive a copy at this stage
- Amend Assessor's Assessment of Assessee - The Assessor canamend their own ratings and comments prior to releasing the initial draft of the OPR Summary Report document to the Assessee
- Assessor Controls the Release of the OPR Report - The Assessor can control when the initial OPR Summary Report document is released to the Assessee - all with the click of a button. This means that if you want the report to be issued only hours prior to the face-to-face review meeting, you can control this timing
